Blue Springs South earned a big victory Friday night to kick off his 2025 season.

The Jaguars, who went 8–3 last year, started off the new season with a dominant home victory. They beat Liberty North, 49–28, making a statement that they are ready to improve upon last year's terrific season.

Blue Springs South took a 28–7 lead into halftime, thanks to three rushing touchdowns by Darius Morgan. He scored on runs of eight, nine and 11 yards in the first half of action.

Blue Springs South quarterback Ayden Wilhelm, a Rice commit, ran for one touchdown and threw for another in the second half as the Jaguars built upon their lead at intermission. Wilhelm rushed into the end zone from 26 yards out before throwing a 26-yard touchdown later in the second half. He finished with 131 passing yards and 88 rushing yards in the victory.

The Jaguars (1-0) will stay at home next week when Park Hill South (1-0) visits. Meanwhile, Liberty North (0-1) plays host to rival Liberty (1-0).
