For the second year in row, the Blue Springs South baseball team was crowned the Class 6 champion.

The Jaguars cruised to victory in the title game. They dominated Christian Brothers College, 10-5, winning a second-straight state championship.

The Jaguars rolled through the Class 6 District 5 Tournament. They beat Battle, 5-1, Fort Osage, 10-0, and Rock Bridge, 8-2. It was the Jaguars’ seventh district title in the past 10 years.

Blue Springs South dropped its opening game of the state tournament, falling to Kickapoo by the score of 3-1. However they bounced back and beat Kickapoo in the next two games of the best-of-3 series. Blue Springs South won 4-1 and then rolled to an 18-2 rout.

In the semifinals, the Jaguars battled Rockhurst in an extra-inning outing. The Jaguars won 6-5 in eight innings, advancing to their second-straight title game.

Blue Springs South finished the season with a 28-10 record. The Jags tied last year’s win total.
