Drew Lock leads Seahawks to Week 1 victory

Lee’s Summit High graduate Drew Lock led the Seattle Seahawks to a come-from-behind victory Wednesday night in the opening game of the NFL season.

The Seahawks beat New England, 13-10, at Lumen Field. They trailed 10-0 until late in the third quarter.

Lock, the Seahawks’ second string quarterback, entered the game on the Seahawks’ second drive of the game. Starter Sam Darnold went down with a reported hip injury on the first drive of the contest.

Trailing 10-3 in the fourth quarter, Lock found star wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 45-yard touchdown pass. The TD pass tied the game 10-10 with 11:28 left in the game.

It was Lock’s first touchdown pass since Week 17 of the 2024 season when he played for the New York Giants.

Lock finished the game completing 16 of 22 passes for 187 yards, throwing one touchdown and no interceptions.
